Cardano Cat Fever

Cardano NFT Twitter timelines were filled with Alley Katz tweets, celebrating the successful sellout of their 10k collection.

Despite the recent drama regarding Alley Katz the team decided to move forward with the mint and focus on the future. A great decision, it turns out, as some of the fud quickly disappeared when the project started breaking records on the secondary market.

Cardano Nodes Stall

The Cardano blockchain was put to the test last week when a lot of its nodes stalled. Thankfully, the chain worked as intended and did not require a reboot due to its decentralized nature. The positive outcome resulted in an overall positive narrative of the event in the media, but Charles himself weighed in on the issue in this latest video.

DJED Launches

The Cardano community has been eagerly waiting for the launch of Djed, Cardano's native overcollaterlized stablecoin, developed by IOG and powered by COTI. $DJED is backed by $ADA and uses $SHEN as a reserve coin.

Despite the overall excitement, some community members have voiced their concern over some of its centralized decisions and fees.

Mutant Labs Exploited

Mutants Labs, a raffle and staking platform on Cardano, was exploited last week. The attacker was using Franken addresses to trick the platform's Token Reward Claim validation and claim tokens which belonged to other users.

Despite the attack, Mutant Labs was quick enough to resolve the issues by returning liquidity to DEXes, restoring user rewards without losses, and updating their platform's validation. Users can already claim their token rewards, and no NFTs were lost during the exploit.

Mocossi Game Trailer & Launch

Mocossi, one of Cardano's play-to-earn projects, has launched its official game trailer. Holders can use their ITOs to farm resources and earn $MCOS, their utility token.

The project has been building consistently and keeping its holders up to date with their development updates in Discord. As mentioned in the last NFT Brew, holders can earn triple rewards if they join and play the game during the 1st month of release.

Derp Birds Create More "Stuff"

Derp Birds, another gamified NFT project, teased a major upcoming UI overhaul. The team has been very busy lately, releasing exciting updates such as their upgraded artwork, first token migration on Cardano, user-defined custom roles system, and much more. Most recently, they teamed up with Alley Katz as a minting and staking partner. More information can be found in their Discord server.

Cypherkicks Launches Fitness App

Cypherkicks, a truly "OG" Cardano NFT project, is launching their Move 2 Earn fitness app on IOS and Android. The fitness app will motivate users to move to earn tokens. Users will be able to use the tokens to buy physical products, NFTs, and more.

Holding a Cypherkicks NFT from one of their many collections will yield boosted rewards.

Pokemon on Cardano?

Cardano Pokémon Club, a new NFT project, is catching some heat for what appears to be a blatant violation of intellectual property. The community, including JPG.store's CEO Blake, participated in the discussion.

Nintendo and Pokémon are notorious for dropping the hammer on individuals or entities that use their IP without permission.Recently an Australian company, Pokémon Pty Ltd, has been taken to court for launching an NFT project called PokéWorld on the Ethereum blockchain. The project did not seek permission and was met with a lawsuit to shut down the project.

POKI Ready for Lifetime Pass Mint

Poki has been constantly adding community-requested features since their first Lifetime Pass mint late last year. This week, Poki will bring total supply to 1,000 NFTs with its final Lifetime Pass mint. Poki's approach to whitelisting, granting it to active free users, has not been previously done in the Cardano NFT space.

NMKR Launches Custom NFT Marketplaces

Any project or individual can now create their own marketplace thanks to NMKR. Users are able to integrate NFT trading into their own websites, earn fees for every transaction and even launch new NFT projects natively on their own customized marketplace.

Minswap Liqwid Zap-in Event Announced

Many Cardano enthusiasts know Liqwuid Finance, the non-custodial liquidity market protocol. Starting on Tuesday, February 7th, Minswap will conduct a "Zap-in" event for their $LQ token, which allows Liqwid to increase its liquidity. Participants supply $ADA and receive the $ADA/$LQ token that can be staked for farming rewards.

Jungle Releases Exciting Updates

Jungle, one of Cardano's most comprehensive NFT analytics platforms, released some updates last week, including the Flow Chain Explorer. It allows users to filter specific wallets, drag wallets to form a map, check for input and output of ADA, and much more.

In light of the recent exploit on Mutant Labs, Jungle pointed out how the Flow Chain Explorer is useful for tracking wallet movements and reacting quickly.

The famously hard-working team also released a "Snipe Zone" feature and added custom date ranges to all of their charts.

Raccoon Syndicate Release Game Preview

Raccoon Syndicate is a 3D-rendered gamified Cardano NFT project founded by Cardano Ecosystem News. Last week, they released a trailer for their upcoming blockchain game, which will launch later this quarter. This is a hold-to-earn (H2E) game and all game data is store on-chain.

Happy Birthdate The Ape Society

Cardano's largest NFT project by market cap, The Ape Society, celebrated its first birthday this past Sunday. Happy birthday! 🎉

Cardano NFT Project Updates

Many prominent Cardano NFT projects announced exciting updates last week.

Vampire Invasion opened up for customization of their collaboration NFTs with Vials. They also started their next collaboration burn/mint event with Havoc Worlds.

Raging Teens Clan airdropped 500 Rage Serums to holders and announced their benefits last week (see Tweet graphic).

Lunatics is a "mentally ill" duck pfp project that released their updated "Duckmap" this week. It highlights some of their upcoming events and milestones, including Duck Juice, staking, and $QAK

Digital Lowlifes announced the launch of Season 2 and a new Twitter account, separate from the artist's account (Joseph Miranda).

The project became famous for its unique pfp concept where community members were integrated into the collection (See CardanoThor's Twitter pfp), but in Season 2, anyone can apply and mint their own personalized NFT profile picture.

SpaceBudz officially introduced Nebula last weekend. Nebula is an open-cource protocol that will allow developers to quickly set up their own marketplace, like the SpaceBudz marketplace.

Vudu Brigada, a veteran Cardano NFT project with a heavy focus on fashion and 3D artwork, announced the release of their Brigada digital magazine. The publication will feature NFT artists, focusing on fashion and culture.

Universe.25 launched their mini-game last week, Legion of Ducks. This browser game allows players to integrate their NFTs and was entirely built in-house.

Split World announced the launch of its customization platform. The project has been working towards this goal for months, and after some delays and frustrations with their previous tech partner, they can finally bring their vision to life.

NFT Wallpaper App Adds Cardano NFTs

Rareboy, a popular tools suite for NFT lovers, recently added their first Cardano NFT project to their phone wallpaper app. The team seems to have done their research as they chose to partner up with Clay Nation, one of the most beloved projects in the space.

Frogs & Mice Fud

Two new Cardano NFT projects, the Frog Collective and Micefia, have come under fire recently for different reasons.

With almost 7,000 followers on Twitter, the Frog Collective describes itself as a "community driven NFT project with flawless art and real utility built on Cardano". Several community members have voiced their concerns over the artwork being previously minted as a part of other NFT projects on other blockchains, only to be abandoned. The team has denied that the artist is a part of these "rugpull" NFT projects.Micefia, on the other hand, who successfully sold out their 4,444 NFT collection last week, has been criticized for their artwork variety.

The Working Dead Wins Twitter

Goofy Crisp (see his interview in Issue 35 Premium Brew) regularly uses the Twitter API to see which project is most often mentioned on Twitter. According to the latest data, The Working Dead easily took the number one spot with over 40,000 mentions. Perhaps this has something to do with their upcoming phase 2 mint. Flooftopia is a social MMORPG that combines MMORPG mechanics, cooperative gameplay, and adorable Floofs into a unique gaming experience that everyone can enjoy. They might not have nailed the marketing side of things but their team, game quality, and litepaper all look great. This week, they are minting their Founder Pass, which will give extra benefits to holders as they continue to develop the game.

The Working Dead

Market Update

These past couple of weeks have been unique in more than one way for the Cardano NFT market. We have been approaching 1-year lows in terms of volume and floor prices have been falling for most collections. The Alley Katz mint broke secondary market volume records and boosted the numbers significantly. Overall, we saw a 20% increase in volume and 27% increase in trades compared to last week.

Again, floor prices and market capitalization for most projects have been falling drastically. This is most likely due to the spike in ADA prices and NFT collectors taking advantage of the sudden increase in their NFTs' fiat value.

On a macro level, the traditional markets are still fighting considerable uncertainty, although general sentiment is turning more positive every week. The bears remain cautious and warn of bull traps and a deeper recession, while the bulls point out some positive signals in the crypto charts.
