CardanoThor's Weekly Brew - Issue #2

Your 15-minute catch-up on the CNFT world as you enjoy a nice brew. Through research and help from my community, I bring you CNFT news, market analysis, the ArtBeat, an underrated project feature, and my condensed overall thoughts of the week. Happy reading.

The Highlights

Block Owls took the CNFT space by storm with a very impressive drop, both in terms of art quality and execution. Aftermarket sales started strong and quickly drove the floor well above the ₳100 mark. They also announced their first collaboration with CryptoRaggies, a play-to-earn game on Cardano.

Hosky Token tested the Cardano blockchain yet again when they announced their C(ash grab) NFT drop. The 24-hour delayed drop saw a further delay as the Hosky team dealt with some issues. The NFTs started minting Friday night but total supply is still unknown.

Stik Friks received an upgrade in many people's opinion when they announced a collab with Sam (DeepVisionAI).

Zombie Chains made a big announcement that outlined their upcoming plans. Zombie Chains Part II will be another 10k drop in January while their next drop will be Zombie Coins in mid-December. Finally, they will be auctioning off some Zombie Concept NFTs soon. If you buy coins, concepts, or stake with the creators, you will receive Zombie Points, which are required to make the Part II whitelist.

The community raised some concerns about the announcement and the team made changes based on that feedback. For full details, see their Discord server announcements.

Benjamin's Group had an exciting week full of positives but also some negatives. The project launched with a 10K drop, starting with a whitelist sale at ₳50 and then quickly selling out their next tier (1k) at ₳60. However, many people fell victim to a scammer who managed to post an address in a thread on the official announcement. BG has decided to refund everybody who was scammed and this will surely be a tough lesson for both buyers and creators.

Equine announced their drop date but it will be a 24H sales window, starting December 18th at midnight UTC (00:01). Only bundles of 3 NFTs are being sold for 250 ADA each (horse, jockey, skin).

Infinite Halo has been one of the most successful generative CNFT newcomers but their policy locked earlier this week, setting the total supply of the project at 2,315 halos. The team made the decision to mint their only 1:1 NFT (Ghost) and auction it off, donating proceeds to charity.

Pavia plot sold for 50k this week. This is the highest sale for a single plot in Pavia's history. Many conspiracy theories emerged following this sale as people question its legitimacy.

Baby Alien Club announced their Season 2 drop consisting of spaceships for their baby aliens. Pre-sale (holders) could mint on Saturday at 19:00 UTC and the public sale started Sunday at 7:30 AM UTC.

Multiple projects announced or executed airdrops for their holders this week, including Degen Crypto Club, VUDU Brigada, and Old Money hinting at their main $0.2 CNFT coming in the form of an airdrop. DCC successfully dropped their Christmas Degens and received good feedback from the community. VUDU announced their Christmas and New Year holiday drops, which will require holding 5 Vudus for a "Nice" airdrop but holders of 15+ will receive a "Naughty" airdrop. Finally, I will leave you to figure out the Old Money announcement:

Useful tools are being created every week for the CNFT space. This week's notable mentions go to CNFT Predator and CNFTCharts. Predator offers a useful "sniping" extension that makes discovering good deals fast and easy. CNFTCharts offers a good overview of trends when it comes to the overall volume and floor prices.

This Week

Angel Baby Hit Squad's first airdrop is scheduled for this upcoming Friday the 10th. The airdrop is by artist Jason. ABHS holders have to connect their ETH and ADA wallets to be eligible for the airdrop.

Roborobo is a 3D project that has gained some traction over the past few days with almost 1.5k users in Discord and 1.1k on Twitter. Their limited drop of 250 NFTs is scheduled for this Tuesday at 5PM UTC at ₳50 each.

Zi Project went under many people's radar until Bitfins released a sneak-peek at their collaboration with them. The artwork looks fantastic but Zi's main 6k pfp drop will happen on Sunday, December 12th.

Very Important Dummies releases its 3rd and final season this Thursday. 2,000 of the total 3,500 dummies will be dropped at ₳32/mint.

Lion Legends Season 2 takes place this Friday, with 5,555 lionesses being dropped for ₳60/piece

ADA continues its downtrend and the CNFT market follows. Overall, we saw an almost 20% decrease in ADA volume despite recording similar levels of NFT volume, indicating a reduction in average price. This is no surprise as most people have noticed the floor price of their favorite projects decrease consistently throughout the week. Blue-chip projects were a good indicator of the trend with Clay floor dipping below ₳1K, Unsig floor below ₳600, and CardanoTrees below ₳150.

The ArtBeat

The CNFT art space was a nice distraction from the depressing ADA and CNFT price action. We saw several successful drops, including Joseph Miranda's "We the People" and Anna Hymas' "Painted Lady".

Infinite Halos were mentioned above as they closed their policy and are now officially done minting. Their charity auction is currently live on CNFT.io with the highest bid at ₳600 but 6 days left of the auction. A final price well above 1k or in the multiple thousands is expected considering past sales.

Wookie Art Diarrhea has been gaining some attention for his unique 3D animated art that will be minted on the Cardano blockchain in the near future.

Is 3D animation gaining steam? HYPE skulls might have been the first project on Cardano that offered high-quality 3D animated NFTs but the recent success of BlockOwls was a positive indication that there might be some serious appetite for something other than the traditional static pfp style.

The Makers is an interesting new project that brings architectural design to the CNFT space. Each piece is made with a hand-made cardboard character and there will only be a total of 100 Makers.

Visage is bringing something unique to the CNFT space in the form of 1,000 hand-drawn faces. The mission is to create a pfp project with some character and artistic style. The project will launch in mid-late December and will be 30 ADA each.

Threefold Bold is currently minting a unique collection called "Love in the metaverse". These pieces also include original audio by Rogue Tactics.

Underrated

This is a highly subjective section of the newsletter. Please DYOR.

Happy Acid Dream Club is a fun project that has flown under most people's radars. This might be due to the unusual but refreshing "stealth" drop strategy they implemented for their collection. The artist, Acidica, has plans for other drops but says that they will most likely be stealth drops as well. No roadmap, no marketing team, no hype. "Just" some cool CNFTs that I believe deserve some more attention.

The Rugpull Watch

Moving forward, this section will list the names of projects that have "rugpulled" by leaving the project and their responsibilities without explanation. This has become much too common in the CNFT space and my hope is that this section will eventually become unnecessary. This section is appropriately brought to you by The Rugpull CNFT

This week's Rugpulls:

Viking Squad Updates

If you have made it this far, I admire your dedication and love for CNFTs. You're a true Viking. If you'd want to go absolutely berserk, you can tweet or retweet the newsletter. It would mean a lot to me 🙏 I'll be giving away 1B worthless $HOSKY to a random person who tweets the newsletter next week.

The ArtBeat: We had a fantastic discussion this past Sunday with @TYLRwithspaces, @NANO_Frames, @AscenderOne (HYPE), and others about the CNFT art scene. Next weekend we will continue the discussion with other talented and passionate artists in the space.

Twitch: Although too early to announce, this week's interview will be with the creators of one of the biggest CNFT projects in the space. Streams at 8PM UTC on Wednesdays and Fridays.

YouTube: Last week I released a Deep-Dive video on the Goat Tribe. Another CNFT video coming tomorrow.
