News

JPG Store Gives $JPG Airdrop Information

Cardano's largest NFT marketplace released more information about their upcoming $JPG token, including:

• Rewards based on buy/sell volume

• Rewards to project creators (based on volume)

• Rugpulls and inactive projects are excluded

• Wash-traded volume will be disqualified

Although mostly excited, some community members questioned how they identify the wash-trading volume and, if they have that information, why they haven't shared it with the community.

Another Ape Controversy

The Bored Ape Cardano Club, a controversial derivative project, has bought several high-value NFTs from other blockchains using their minting funds, including an $ETH MAYC and a $SOL DeGod.

It all started when Fettuccine, a popular influencer, traded his MAYC to a community member who sold it to BACC.

The project seems to have responded to the criticism by investing in a Cardano NFT project: Goombles.

Cardano Wins Prizes & Gets to Work

As usual, it was a busy week for Cardano's development, with the era of Voltaire fast approaching.

The Cardano Foundation won an award for the best workshop at the Paris Block Week. Charles also encouraged the community to help Rick McCracken review CIP for Governance Security on Cardano. Finally, IOG hired Eran Barak, former COO of Symphony, as the new CEO of Midnight.

Sold Out Despite Attacks

Both Goofy Gophers Mining Club and Stag Alliance successfully sold out their collections of 8,888 and 7,500 NFTs. Both projects have done well on the secondary market regarding volume, although GGMC shows more strength in the floor price and listing ratio categories.

Both projects were targeted by the infamous Tokenizer bot, which exploited a vulnerability in their systems to mint some of the rare NFTs in the collections.

Chilled Kongs Looking For Magic

Chilled Kongs continued preparing for its Magic Kongs mint and announced the price this week (350 ADA), along with more sneak peeks.

Not everyone is convinced that the project will sell out at that price.

BlockOwls Introduces Jabi-Z

BlockOwls, arguably the most successful animated NFT project on Cardano, released their Jabi-Z video, introducing the new character to the community before their upcoming mint. To no one's surprise, the quality is exceptional.

Clay Nation Parties in Paris

Clay Nation founders Lenna & Issy appeared to have fun at the Paris Blockchain Week with Champ and Snoop Dogg. Clay Nation holders were invited to VIP invite-only events hosted by the team.

SpaceBudz Reveals Nebula Updates

After some of last week's excitement regarding their V2 mint, SpaceBudz turned their attention to Nebula. In a detailed post (below), they explained how Nebula is perhaps a more important update than the V2 NFT wormhole migration. The update includes the following features:

• Up to 50% lower fees with nebula

• Fewer issues with large wallets

• Collection offers with specific constraints

• Independent tool

VyFinance Launches Public Testnet

VyFinance, an exciting upcoming DeFi platform on Cardano, launched its public testnet last week. They also launched their first community LP Vault, allowing users to stake LP tokens from various DEXs on their platform to earn tokens from multiple projects.

The Ape Society Wins Twitter

The Apes Society claimed the Twitter popularity crown again this week, followed closely by SpaceBudz and Chilled Kongs.

Other Cardano NFT Project Updates

Smaller updates from some of the more prominent NFT projects on Cardano.

Goombles celebrated their 1-month anniversary and released their first major development update. Most notably, the announcement revealed that they are in talks with two gaming studios to develop the game.

CNFT Tools is hosting a ToolHeads launch event on March 30th. They are expected to reveal an NFT and more information about their upcoming mint.

Chainliners, an upcoming game developed by Matrix Escapers, revealed a sneak peek of their game this week. The project is one aspect of the utility being created by Matrix Escapers.

The Ape Society announced that they would be making more frequent updates on their development moving forward and released a Medium article with more details on their post-COTAS mint milestones.

NMKR has now integrated Zapier, a popular automation tool, into their platform.

Mutants released their updated litepaper and continues to prepare for their Mutant mint. The mint date will be announced on March 30th.

Cardano Crocs Club launched their Swamplands this week and opened up for project partnerships. The update opens up NFT staking, land upgrades, and more.

The Mallard Order announced more details about their upcoming gallery show at the NFT NYC event in April.

Ugly Bros released sneak peeks of their full-body metaverse avatar work.

Aeoniumsky announced details of the airdrop that will be made to holders of all Blocks in his Series 1 collection. He also announced some details on an upcoming Series 2.

TV Kills struggled to maintain the hype they received leading up to their first mint in January. They are preparing for their second mint and gave collectors a preview of it this week.

Metadams has officially launched their game. It is one of the first projects to launch their metaverse project on Cardano.

Club Mars announced a partnership with Kujira, a Japanese cuisine restaurant located in New York. This is the first of many lifestyle benefits the project aims to deliver to holders.

Prime Kings announced a partnership with Derp Birds.

Platypus Cyberpunks was planning on minting last week but has announced that they are postponing it.

Bad Fox Motorcycle Club made several announcements, including an upcoming 3D collection and project tool upgrades.

The Pedigree Society launched its website last week. Their goal is to build a unique platform to connect pet owners. They are also giving NFT holders ownership in their publically registered company, which is unheard of.

Fable Friends launched their Fabled Raids Twitter feature, allowing projects to pay for Twitter engagement and users to earn rewards.

Brave Dogs submitted a pull request to the popular Nami wallet last week, including a password reset feature. They also successfully minted Cloud 9 passes for the upcoming Dreamer project.

The Collector's Club airdropped banners to holders of NFTs with IDs 4-5,000.

In a symbolic transaction made by Vitalik, Ethereum's founder, Polygon launched zKEVM on Monday. It aims to increase scale and decrease the cost of ETH transactions.

DeGods Launch Auctions on Bitcoin

DeGods continue to dominate volume in the BTC Ordinals space. Last week, they began auctioning DeGods NFTs, the most recent one selling for over $20k.

CFTC Sues Binance

The US Government seems to be coming after the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Binance. The CFTC alleges that leadership has broken multiple US laws, including an improper compliance audit.

Reddit To Build NFT Marketplace

Reddit CEO revealed that the company plans to build an NFT marketplace in phase 3 of their Reddit Avatar plans.

Yuga Labs Partners with Gucci

The largest NFT studio in the world, Yuga Labs, is partnering up with Gucci to introduce the brand into the metaverse.

Chilled Kongs is the 6th largest Cardano NFT project by all-time volume. They announced the Magic Kongs mint in 2022, which is finally happening at the end of the month. It will begin with a public mint of 4,888 Magic Kongs, but holders of the original collection can mutate their NFTs for free using airdropped Magic Shrooms.

Old Money

Who knows what Old Money is up to? One of the most intriguing and perplexing NFT projects on Cardano is minting their second main collection: MX Bills. This will be round 1, although we don't know how many rounds there are in total.

Aiming to "set the new gold standard for utility," Club Mars can best be described as an NFT merch store. Holders of their NFTs will receive discounts on their shop and other IRL benefits.

The Cardano NFT space was in a downtrend again following some of the big project sellouts last week. ADA has been holding up well compared to other cryptocurrencies, and the sentiment has become more positive.Cardano NFTs had 17,000 buyers last week, a 35% increase from the previous seven days.
