The Highlights

Jpg.store released a Discord bot for free, giving NFT project creators access to a range of tools. Features include holder role assignments, collection notifications, personal activity notifications, and JPG.store support.

Mutants released a sneak peek of their new staking-as-a-service platform last week (see below tweet). The platform, called Labs, will allow holders of participating projects to earn rewards by staking their NFTs.

Clay Nation's $CLAY baking is now live. Holders of OG Clay Nation and Good Charlotte NFTs can now claim accumulated $CLAY tokens. However, it's worth reading the "how-to" carefully as those who do not claim will also be rewarded, for example.

The team also teased an exciting music collaboration with Snoop Dogg and Champ Medici.

Charles Hoskinson invited the Clay Nation team and Champ Medici to his ranch. Charles has been known for inviting influential people to his ranch and did exactly that when he first talked to the Clay Nation team, Snoop Dogg, and Champ at the famous Twitter space earlier this year. Clay Nation and Champ took him up on the offer and seemed to really enjoy their time at the ranch.

NFT Link are going pro, adding several features to projects that want to link their NFTs to physical products. NFT Link have been pioneers in NFT-L space and became widely known after their Clay Nation x Sweet Fellas collaboration.

Cardano Warriors, an OG project in the space, is launching their testnet for their upcoming P2E RPG game. The project first launched in May, 2021 and their NFTs currently have a floor price of ₳230.

H.Y.P.E sold out their H.R. Giger-inspired Capsule One collection. Only 150 NFTs were available for ₳200 each, or ₳100 for HYPE skull holders. The collection received much praise for its high quality NFTs, produced by the award winning multi-disciplinary artist Ascender.

This is the first drop with a new team behind the scenes and it's safe to say that the new team is off to a good start.

Wolves of Rome published a video making it even easy to understand their whitepaper and NFT utility. Has the team discovered what it really takes to make people read project whitepapers?

Several exciting project collaborations are on the horizon. Derp Birds is collaborating with Eggscape Club and Knitties announced a collaboration with MIPA Toys. Finally, Borg Club announced their Symbiotics collection, which will include collaborations with various projects in the space, the first of which is Melting Moonboy.

Mandrillz holders received exciting news this Wednesday as the team teased an upcoming litepaper. Mandrillz recently minted their Splinters NFTs, which give a WL spot to their upcoming companion drop. As the project adds utility and grows in complexity, a litepaper becomes increasingly useful.

Derp Birds staking is officially live. Holders can now earn XP/$DERP every epoch. XP can be earned by other means, such as community participation, and all XP can be converted to $DERP. No action is needed from holders as NFTs will simply accumulate XP with time.

The Mallard Order broke ₳1.3M on the 7-day volume charts and has now recorded over ₳3M in secondary market sales since they launched . This is the strongest secondary market performance by a new project since Cornucopias dropped their land sale in early June.

CNFT Radar

Here is where I list all projects that are not minting this week but are already on my radar. New additions in bold.

Market Analysis

The Cardano NFT market cooled down slightly (-1%) after the previous week's 12% jump. The past few days have seen us return to the usual ~₳750k 24-hour volume after several days above ₳1.2M last week. However, with many big projects coming up, including Bernard Boys, Raccoon Syndicate, and LeatherHeads, the market will likely stay fairly strong this week.

In the big picture, the Cardano NFT market seems to have bottomed out for the time being in this bear market. Even though there is always risk of further downside, a potential rally in the next few weeks would not be surprising.

On the 24-hour timeframe, we have approx. 1,500 Cardano NFT buyers compared to 9,500 on Solana and 13,500 on Ethereum. This might show just how far Cardano is behind the other two chains but it also highlights the room for growth.

The numbers (last 7 days)

  • Total ADA volume: ₳6 million (-1%)

  • Total CNFT Volume: 29,000 (-0.5%)

Underrated

These are this week’s most underrated investment opportunities and artists. This is a highly subjective section so please DYOR

Some of my previous blue chip picks are still relevant and would be my choice today if I hadn't picked them already, including Clay Nation, Yummi, and others. Check out my undervalued picks from previous issues.

Investment Opportunity: Disco Solaris

Disco Solaris is a project most Cardano NFT fans are familiar with. It has established itself as one of the premium-tier NFT projects on the blockchain and the team has proven itself as talented and reliable.

The floor price has slowly declined from ₳625 to ₳400 in the past couple of weeks for no particular reason other than the bear market conditions. They remain an exciting proposition and are making steady progress with their roadmap. With their upcoming $DISCO, music, and merch drops, the project continues to thrive and might experience another hype pump in the next few weeks.

This week's underrated artist pick goes to a rare breed on Cardano: a photographer. Deborah Berry Photography is one of the few fine art photographers in the Cardano NFT space. She specializes in high-speed macro liquid art photography, which is even more of a niche art category.

Her collection "Art of Liquid" just sold out today - congratulations!

Thor's Thoughts

To follow up on last week's thoughts on the use of the word "rugpull", I suggest a different word for when creators leave a project for non-malicious reasons: "Plugpull".

The word plugpull can be used without all the emotions and negative connotations associated with rugpulls. Did the project only mint 3% of the collection and is not financially able to continue development? It's a plugpull. It's no longer in the same category as the project that scammed all of its investors and ran away with the funds.

If you need further context to this discussion, see last week's issue. Credit goes to Matthew who first made the suggestion.
