The Highlights

NFT NYC, a leading annual NFT event, was held last week with many Cardano community members in attendance. Aeoniumsky received a lot of praise and attention for his featured art.

Cardano NFT influencers such as Blake from JPG.store, Deezy, and others seemed impressed and excited about what they saw at the event.

In a recent CopiCafe YouTube update, Cornucopias discussed pushing their upcoming Custom Domes sale to Q3. They also tweeted a behind-the-scenes look at their Manchester team meetup, including a brainstorming session.

Djed Stablecoin is on track to be deployed to the mainnet immediately following the Vasil Hard fork. This adds another level of excitement for Cardano fans who are already looking forward to the Vasil hard fork event later this summer.

Charles Hoskinson stole the show with his impressive answers and insights in front of a Congressional hearing last week. As usual, he appeared relaxed and confident.

Ugly Bros experienced a Discord hack through an admin’s personal account where many community members lost ADA. One of the founders, Sergio, apparently had his account hacked through a sophisticated scam while doing research for the project.

As expected, Sergio and the Ugly Bros team has been busy sorting out those affected since the hack.

Space Pugs Alpha successfully hosted the first Poker Showdown tournament with 16 project collaborations, 200 players, and 3 streamers (Including yours truly). The event was a fantastic way to bring the greater CNFT community together.

The SPA project itself has been growing in popularity and the floor price has been holding above ₳200.

Disco Solaris will take a snapshot of Disco Solaris holders for their upcoming $DISCO, or their Discoin token on July 1st. This happens as they reach the ₳3 million volume milestone. From their Discoin whitepaper:

"Discoin is the community currency of Neo Miami. Discoin ($DISCO) was created by members of the DISCO SOLARIS community to empower Disco Solaris NFT holders (Neo Miami Citizens). With Discoin, Disco Solaris NFT holders will be able to stake their coins, participate in governance through our DAO, and spend their $DISCO in the Neo Miami Entertainment District economy."

The Ape Society saw a lot of action on the secondary market as collectors get ready for staking their Cabins. The floor rose from ₳187 to ₳ 254 today, or a 36% increase. See full analytics here.

Pavia announces their application to the Metaverse Forum, joining the important discussion of setting unified metaverse standards. The community generally accepts this as a step in the right direction to ensure better interoperability.

Several other projects announced exciting updates last week:

Pixl.page is a service that allows you to view and share your NFT gallery in a highly customized way. Last week, they made an important update allowing users to connect their wallets to edit their pages.

The King Tigers made a big announcement about what collectors can expect moving forward, including Baby Tigers airdrop, staking, and royalty share.

Politikoz is one of Cardano's oldest and most original projects. After months of work, they have launched their first election, where winners win a share of a large ADA pot through an on-chain protocol.

Bajuzki Studios released some teasers of its upcoming Vampire Playground, including the included PvP battle game.

OG Bears released a couple of exciting sneak peeks of their P2E metaverse last week.

PAINS NFT postponed their Parapains collection reveal to later this week. However, they surprised fans with a sneak peek at one of their 1:1 designs.

Artano launched a themed Surrealist Collection last week. The collection is made by The Surrealist Collective, a first of its kind on Cardano.

Handies opened their Thirsty claiming period last week. If you hold the necessary assets, you can claim a Thirsty, which have been getting a lot of praise for its high-quality designs.

ADA Apes Club was confirmed as a rugpull by JPG.store only to have the label removed hours later. Regardless, the project is considered a rugpull by many community members as Discord drama reaches an all-time high.

Charles Machin announced his next upcoming drop called First Diversion. Charles is one of the finest generative on-chain artist on Cardano and has been previously picked for the underrated artist section in this newsletter.

Holders of his previous collection, Eternal Chaos, will receive a 50 ada discount.

Age of Orcs is an upcoming project that has received a lot of attention lately. They have almost reached 3k Discord members after opening it only a couple of days ago.

Yesterday, they also announced a partnership with Derp Birds.

Flint Wallet released a new Android app and encourages users to test it.

Cardano joined the Linux Foundation as a Gold member last week. The foundation helps open technology projects build world class open source software, communities, and companies.

This Week

This section includes all the drops that I’m excited about this week and feel comfortable recommending. In other words, this is a curated list. To see a more complete list, check out wencnft.com.

Onesies is a project that aims to promote new artists to Cardano and is currently dropping its 10k collection. The project is ran by the team behind RatsDAO. The project is currently in their second minting phase with just over 2k minted at the time of writing. The public sales starts today at 8PM UTC, or most likely around the time this newsletter is sent out.

Galactico is a unique 1:1 art series with very limited supply. Art collectors might be aware of the previous 2 collections, but this is the 3rd in the series. All NFTs are 1:1 animated pieces.

Deez Ducks is a fun collection created by the YouTuber DeanK for the Cardano community. At only 6.5 ada, it's an affordable way to get involved in the community.

OBA CNFT  is a manga-style, story-driven collection of 3,333 NFTs. The project is created by a brother duo from the UK and is a part of the JPG.store launchpad.

Santeria by EL Matador is one of the most highly anticipated drops next week as their previous collection have been very popular. Holding any of their NFTs will give access to their "stake & make" platform, where users can customize their own EL Matador under a new collection.

Here is where I list all projects that are not minting this week but are already on my radar. New additions in bold.

Market Analysis

Have we reached the bottom? That's the question many are asking themselves as the CNFT volume decline slows down. Melting Moonboys, TED Nation, and The Deadly Sins proved that projects can still be successful and sell out in these conditions but the 3 projects were all in the volume top 5 last week. Even though volume went down slightly (-5%), activity went up by 7.5% when looking at total NFTs sold.

With optimism surrounding Cardano Summer and Vasil Hard Fork around the corner, I would not be surprised to see a trend reversal in the short-medium term for CNFTs. Recent data suggests that the Cardano community are the biggest holders and most active during bear periods and the CNFT community still has much room to grow.

SpaceBud#2225 took this week's highest sale record at ₳52,500 but Old Money continues to impress with two large sales at ₳42,500 and ₳20k. The ₳42.5k sale on epoch.art accounted for nearly 70% of total volume on the platform this week.

Underrated

These are this week’s most underrated investment opportunities and artists. This is a highly subjective section so please DYOR

Some of my previous blue chip picks are still relevant and would be my choice today if I hadn't picked them already, including Clay Nation, Yummi, and others. Check out my undervalued picks from previous issues.

Investment Opportunity: OnBoard Furbles

In this market, it's difficult to pick the best investment opportunity out of so many options. When seeing the OnBoard Furbles collection drop to a ₳29 floor price (now ₳38), I knew it had to be my pick.

Not only was the mint price ₳88 but the team has not shown any signs of not delivering on their vision. The NFT also offer a good amount of utility for holders who believe in the project.

With a solid team, led by CardanoSalad and Connoisseur, the upside is pretty great at this price. They also recently teased an upcoming artist drop, which could drive up the prices when revealed in the near future.

Artist: Ernst Blaad

Ernst Blaad is a 1:1 artist on Cardano, which unfortunately means that he's likely to be well-known in the CNFT community. Ernst is an artist who lives in the alps with his family. From a description on his website:

"Each of his paintings starts with a unconscious moment - which is the base of a unique style throughout all Ernst Blaad artworks."

Thor's Thoughts

It's hard to think about anything other than what is happening to human (women's) rights in the U.S. these days. Some people don't believe politics belong in the coverage of sports, entertainment, or in this case, NFTs. But considering that politics touch every aspect of human life, I think that is nonsense.

But I'll spare you a rant about this particular issue. Many people will do that much more effectively and knowing human nature, will still fail to change anybody's already established beliefs. Instead, I want to focus on the underlying issue and a possible lesson we can take into the Cardano NFT community.

If what is happening in the political landscape can teach us anything, it's that division never leads to positive change. Instead of focusing on tolerance and empathy, our leaders focus on belittling banter, anger, violence and cruelty because it's effective and taps into the weaknesses of our human nature. Whichever "side" you're on, this isn't helping anybody. If you are a Cardano community leader / influencer, please be different.

As a Cardano NFT community, let's have open debates and discussions. Instead of living in our own little bubble that slowly gets filled with rage, bias, and fear, let's celebrate our diversity. Whether you're a moonboy pfp degen or an art collector, there is room for you in CNFTs.
