Weekly CNFT Brew
Your 15-minute catch-up on the CNFT world as you enjoy a nice brew. Through research and help from my community, I bring you CNFT news, market analysis, the ArtBeat, and more. Happy reading.
The Highlights
DEADPXLZ has stolen the headlines this week with both a number of large sales and exciting updates on their PXL Wars P2E game. They released a PXL Forge Demo #2 (below), where the forging process is thoroughly explained. The community appears to be getting excited judging by the number of large secondary market sales, including a 15k, and two 30k sales.
Tavern Squad sold out its 10k collection last week, with sales picking up at an incredible rate at its peak. Interest from respected CNFT investors, such as CNFT Hoarder Cryptodramz undoubtedly contributed to the FOMO-like minting rate. See my interview with Tavern Squad here, a couple of weeks before they sold out.
Several projects sold out successfully this week, including Rebellion, Hornnies, ADApes Society, Project 2090, and Retro Aliens. Even though the blockchain and NFT-Maker Pro seemed to struggle with demand, the drops did not cause significant outrage or drama as we've seen in the past. Another project that launched a drop this week is Masked on Buttons with MOB City. This collection has not sold out and is currently minting.
CryptoDino released their Breeding Simulator last week on CryptoDino.io. As fans prepare for breeding the P2E game, the incredibly low supply of available Dinos on the secondary market has been noticeable.
CNFT.io and JPG.store made some significant improvements last week. CNFT.io added an "Activity" page with lots of useful information about top-performing projects. They also launched their Bundle Listing type, where users can bundle multiple NFTs together in a single sale.
Although not as big in comparison to CNFT.io, JPG.store's improvements mostly had to do with improved speed and UI/UX cleanup.
H.Y.P.E. is getting closer to their groundbreaking Vapor release and just recently updated their website, including a wallet connection and identity token creation. They have also released some exciting sneak peeks of their next projects, Mashamals and H.Y.P.E. Rods. See more on seehype.io
Secret Goat Society has been creating some buzz in the CNFT Community, teasing their Discord open date and massive giveaways. This DAO might be one of many new DAOs on the scene, but being a GOAT Tribe community-led project makes it unique.
Clay Nation's stake pool announced some exciting prices to delegators starting March 1st.
Trading Tent and FreeRoam are two exciting services that might offer some real benefits to users. Trading Tent allows users to complete an NFT trade in a single transaction, securely and instantly (5 ada fee). The team behind the product is the Fort Gotten team and holders receive a 50% discount on their fees.
FreeRoam was created by the Ghostchain team, offering a comprehensive CNFT hub, a marketplace, and a useful dashboard.
Joseph Miranda announced a collaboration with Universe.25 today. Universe.25 hinted at collaborations with several projects as a part of their roadmap during our Twitch chat, and this appears to be one of them.
Disco Solaris announced their Drop date: February 8th, 7PM UTC.
Fudbuddies just appeared in the Twitterverse. What's going on here? Sources tell me that several highly respected CNFT people are behind this project.

In the broader world of crypto (yes, apparently there's a world beyond CNFTs), highlights included Biden's focus on crypto regulations as a matter of national security, Arizona considering making BTC legal tender, NFTs becoming more popular than crypto, and Picasso heirs announcing an NFT collection with some of Picasso's work, only to later change their minds.

GENEVA (AP) — Pablo Picasso's family is not selling a digital asset linked to one of his works after all. After a granddaughter and great-grandson of the artist trumpeted the upcoming sale, lawyers for the family said Thursday that his heirs have not authorized the launch of any such “Picasso NFT.”

Market Analysis
With the Federal Reserve confirming upcoming quantitative tightening, traditional markets continue to have a hard time and this inevitably affects crypto- and NFT markets. CNFTs experienced 26% less volume last week and floor prices have started to decline. This is a highly volatile market and investors can expect bigger swings in their NFT value than any other asset class.
The good news is that we are still significantly above December volume with a reason to believe that many new CNFT investors are here to stay. After a euphoric January, we can expect a cooler February as many investors look to de-risk their assets based on the overall uncertainty of traditional markets.
The numbers:
Total ADA volume: ₳11.59 million (-25.94%)

The ArtBeat
Sweet Fellas seem to have taken an interesting turn in their NFT designs. This artwork has many collectors excited (myself included) and keeping a close eye on further information.
Perhaps one of the busiest CNFT artists in the space, Kimosabe is at it again with a collection called Machine Headz. This project follows his previous work with Cyberpunks, Hell Hounds, and Survival Arena. The artist seems to operate in an interesting place somewhere between the traditional NFT playbook and fine art and graphic design.

JAR Heads is another interesting art pfp project dropping later this month. It's a great example of a traditional canvas artist adapting to the NFT space and producing something exciting for a new market.
OverChill is a hand-drawn art project that is still relatively unknown. Their first "faceless" project is scheduled to be released in 2022.
Underrated
These are this week’s most underrated investment opportunities and artists. This is a highly subjective section so please DYOR
Investment Opportunity: Zombie Chains
As the Zombie Hunter hype reached its maximum, the floor price of the original Zombie Chains fell from 170 to 95 yesterday, standing now at 125. The project continues to deliver on its promises and provide quality NFTs without drama or issues. As a top 10 project of all-time, it is currently ₳224 (64%) cheaper than the second-cheapest top-10 project, Yummi Universe.
But they are not just an investment opportunity. Zombie Chains NFTs are high-quality work by the talented Brian Allen.
Artist: Glus
Glus has been creating CNFTs since April 2021 and is therefore truly one of the OG artists on the blockchain. The multi-talented artist is known to experiment with different mediums, including motion design, paper collages and even music. Any serious Cardano art collection needs a Glus piece.

Rugpull Watch
Unfortunately, Lunars rugged their community today. Although this technically occurred over the holidays, it was made official today with a Mod announcement.
On a personal note, I had a bad experience with the Lunars team several weeks ago and decided to leave the project. The lesson I take from that experience is not to be afraid to call out questionable behavior, even when others will dismiss it as FUD. Get to know the team, DYOR, and follow your instincts. My heart goes out to the Lunars community, which I'm sure will move the project forward.
