The Highlights

Chilled Kongs give sneak peeks at their upcoming mutation, Magic Kongs. The community seems very excited about this next step on the project's roadmap.

Several successful drops took the Cardano NFT space by storm last week. The largest of which, The Mallard Order and Pixl.page, sold out almost instantly and have performed well on the secondary market. The Mallard Order, in particular has taken the #1 spot on the weekly charts with almost ₳2M in volume.

DeadPXLz announced that their staking program has ended. Holders will have a 30-day grace period to claim their $DING.

JPG.store released their reporting feature last week, allowing users to report rugpull or scam projects. They also reached the impressive milestone of paying out ₳10M in royalties.

NMKR (NFT-Maker) has successfully upgraded their nodes for the upcoming Vasil Hard fork. All marketplaces will have to take advantage of the testnet to update their smart contracts.

H.Y.P.E. is releasing a limited NFT collection inspired by the late H.R. Giger. H.Y.P.E. is a historic Cardano NFT project that recently celebrated a 1-year anniversary of their OG Skull collection.

Trading Tent suffered a serious scam that hurt the community. Trading Tent has taken significant steps to raise awareness and stop the scammer(s).

Goat Tribe airdropped DNA kits to their holders this week. More info on utility to come. The below letter from the team indicates that next steps will take place in mid-October.

Death Squad reached the impressive milestone of having 0 listed NFTs. Only one of their seasonal NFTs is currently listed for ₳1.2k. The project is the work of the artist Lewis who is also the artist behind FudBuddies.

SpaceBudz  encouraged holders to verify ownership in Discord for their upcoming V2 collection vote. The project recently announced that they were addressing stolen art issues by updating their collection and allowing holders to trade in their OG Bud for a V2 Bud via two-way bridge.

Dead Rabbits Resurrection Society announced a date for their Supremes mint: 8/10/22. In order to get a Supreme Rabbit, holders will have to burn 2 Rabbits along with their DOTRS ticket. Supreme Rabbits will also come with additional utility.

Jesus 2 recently announced that their Phase One mint will happen in August. The project is created by a former Adventure Time team member and a talented cartoonist, Jesse.

Wild Tangz seems to be working on a Cardano NFT sniping tool, judging by a recent tweet. This project is known for providing utility to holders in the form of open source tools and this would be another impressive addition to that list of utility.

Angel Baby Hit Squad (ABHS), Fettuccine's ETH project with ADA utility, recently announced a partnership with Frescos to add IRL utility. Frescos is a unique project that adds IRL travel utility to its NFTs.

Pixl.page pushed a major update to their website as they prepare for their second minting window. The update allows users to create a profile and add multiple wallets.

Vasil Hard Fork has been delayed by a "few more weeks" according to IOHK. The decision to delay was made to ensure a smooth and safe transition into the next era of Cardano.

Cardano NFTs did 50% of Solana NFT volume on a 24-hour time frame this week. This is a drastic change as Cardano has regularly struggled to reach 10% of volume in the past.

This section includes all the drops that I’m excited about this week and feel comfortable recommending. In few cases, it inclues In other words, this is a curated list. To see a more complete list, check out wencnft.com.

Cardano Fight Club is the first fighting based NFT on Cardano and is currently minting their 10k collection. They could possibly be sold out by the time you read this. This project is ran by the infamous Blue Magic and appears to involve the legendary fighter Manny Pacquaio in some capacity.

SnowDroidz is another project that is currently minting. This is the second mint by the SnowPunkz team, which sold out their first collection after receiving a shoutout from Charles Hoskinson. Holding a SnowDroidz NFT will be the only way to play their upcoming P2E FPS game.

Pixl.page is opening their second mint window today in 3 different slots. Slots 1 and 2 have already passed and sold out while the 3rd slots will open at around the time this newsletter comes out (3PM UTC today, Wednesday)

Old Money is up to its usual shenanigans this week, this time launching the 2022 elections. According to a team announcement and information found on their election website, holders can boost their votes with campaign materials and unlock different variations of the new upcoming Old Money NFT.

Here is where I list all projects that are not minting this week but are already on my radar. New additions in bold.

Market Analysis

As predicted in the last week's issue, we have seen a significant boost in volume and sales over the past 7 days (12%). This is largely due to the Mallard Order dropping their collection this week, but they account for almost 30% of all Cardano NFT volume (₳1.9M). This is a good sign that there is still a strong market for the biggest and most successful projects in the Cardano NFT space, despite the bear market conditions.

However, this is likely an outlier and does not signal a trend reversal. The Cardano NFT market has been moving sideways since early June, recording ₳700k - ₳1.3M daily. This is still a slight improvement on 2021 numbers, when the bulls were out and ADA priced above $2.

The long-term outlook has not changed despite a good week. We will most likely continue the horizontal movement with the occasional good and bad weeks until general market conditions improve and we enter into a new crypto bull market.

Underrated

These are this week’s most underrated investment opportunities and artists. This is a highly subjective section so please DYOR

Some of my previous blue chip picks are still relevant and would be my choice today if I hadn't picked them already, including Clay Nation, Yummi, and others. Check out my undervalued picks from previous issues.

Investment Opportunity: Aeoniumsky

Aeoniumsky needs no introduction to Cardano NFT fans. He is the most popular NFT fine artist on the blockchain, having sold over ₳1.4M worth of NFTs on the secondary market. He is also one of the earliest artists to enter the space, minting his first NFT on May 5th, 2021.

Fine art is a popular and powerful asset for store of value in the traditional markets and I envision the NFT space to move in that direction as well. Aeoniumsky is one of the very few fine artists on Cardano, if not the only one, whose work has already proven to be a good store of value over time. His "Blocks" collection is not completed yet, but his earlier block NFTs have a floor price of over ₳1.5k (B6) and even ₳10k (B1). There will be 24 blocks total, 9 of which have not dropped yet. The blocks will undoubtedly continue to increase in value over time and with the most recent block (B15) being available for ₳215, it seems like a good investment.

As Aeoniumsky's work continues to be recognized internationally, his other work is also worth looking at, such as his Modified Vehicle collection or Plasma Lamps. You can even get his work for as low as ₳15 if you buy his NFT-Maker collab pieces, Deep Space Relay.

Aeoniumsky is one of those rare cases on Cardano where utility does not seem to matter on the secondary market. Having proven itself as a good store of value and offering an additional historic value, I believe his pieces are a good investment opportunity.

Sacred Femmes is a project that focuses on femininity and female empowerment. Their work seems a bit underrated, perhaps because it doesn't appeal to the typical male degen audience or maybe because their collection didn't sell out instantly. But that doesn't change the fact that the artwork is beautiful. Especially looking at some of their collaboration pieces, the quality of their work is undeniable.
