The Highlights

Did Old Money rug its community? Around 5PM on Tuesday, Old Money creators made a somewhat confusing and cryptic announcement in their Discord server, indicating that they are leaving the project. Is this a part of the OM story or have they truly left and rugged its community?

Derp Birds holders have spent over 30k $DERP in less than 24 hours on raffle tickets. The $DERP token has different types of utility, including that ability to enter raffles for high-value NFTs.

Pixl.page badges become a popular way to display the projects owned by collectors. The badge proves that the collector is the owner of a particular project and adds another fun aspect to collecting NFTs.

Wild Tangz' recent tool extension for jpg.store allows users to buy multiple nfts at once. You can see a full recent interview with the creator, Thad Diamond, on last week's CNFT Live livestream.

World Mobile Token founder goes back and forth with Mark Cuban regarding Cardano and the WMT use case. As many Cardano fans know, Mark Cuban has consistently played down the importance of the Cardano blockchain.

Billionaire entrepreneur and crypto investor Mark Cuban locked horns with World Mobile's CEO Micky Watkins this week.

Clay Nation had a busy week as usual. They had their $CLAY and ABHS x Clay Nation airdrops. They also hired the highly respected and talented Withspaces (Tyler) to their 3D art team. Finally, they have a Joel Madden-autographed guitar to a lucky Clay holder.

NMKR announced their partnership with IOHK to drive widespread adoption for NFTs on Cardano. The company, led by Patrick Tobler, has been growing fast in 2022 and this partnership is yet another jewel in their crown.

Cornucopias has created a debate about their supply following their Custom Dome NFT mint announcement. The announcement received some negative feedback and even the Cornucopias team itself encouraged their fans to "raid" a particularly negative tweet.

Ugly Bros gave a sneak peek at the virtual space they are currently working on. The team has talked about their ambitions to create an entire "Ugly world" and they seem to be busy making that a reality.

Hornnies have rebranded into SuperBull with the goal of better positioning themselves in the Cardano gaming ecosystem. The project's goal is to create a virtual fantasy sports game of the same name. The team also updated their website and promised a new roadmap soon.

BeatBoyz have created some buzz on Twitter for their upcoming mint. This is yet another project launching without a Discord server, but they make the argument that Discord "solos communities". They also have an alternative approach to their marketing by not accepting any cross-promotion and collaborations with other NFT projects.

Their unique retro desktop-style website has been very well received.

The Fluffy’s, an exciting upcoming project, finally announced their mint date to be August 21st via a Medium article. The article gives details on their mint (see below), fluffylist, commercial rights, and more.

Bitboy is suing another influencer, "Atozy", for defamation and claiming $75k in damages. Bitboy, a divisive personality, has received some criticism following this action and even started trending on Twitter.

PAINS introduced PAINS PERKS, rewarding holders in multiple stages. The first stage includes airdropping 20 PAINS to lucky holders.

This week’s top performing project, Raccoon Syndicate, took the Cardano NFT space by storm following their successful mint. Since minting last Saturday, the project has recorded ₳846K in volume at the time of writing. Holders of 6 Raccoons will be allowed to mint 2 from their upcoming tier 2 mint (scientists + clerics).

ChainChillaz announced that their own staking platform and “rewards store” will go live with Vasil. Impressively, they have built everything in-house and are not relying on 3rd party staking platforms. The project still has approx. 800 NFTs until selling out but that could change fast when this added utility goes live.

Many fans were disappointed to learn that LeatherHeads had to postpone their launch, which was scheduled for last week. The project creator cited unexpected issues with the artwork as the primary cause but has yet to announce a new date for the mint.

CNFT Jungle made a major update to their website, including a complete redesign and new features. The development team is also a part of the JPG.store team and is committed to creating a one-stop-shop for users looking for Cardano NFT information.

CNFT Radar

Here is where I list all projects that are not minting this week but are already on my radar. New additions in bold.

Market Analysis

After a few busy weeks following the Mallard Order mint, volume has cooled down and hanging just above the ₳500k mark on the 24-hour timeframe. Raccoon Syndicate accounts for 36% of all volume, despite only minting on Saturday, or ₳845k. Overall, we saw a whopping 25% dip in volume with 45% of the market buying and 55% selling.

Unsurprisingly, floor prices have generally declined across Cardano NFT projects with only a few exceptions. On the bright side, Dead Rabbits Resurrection Society recorded a ₳35k sale and the two metaverse projects Virtua and Cornucopias recorded a ₳21.5k and ₳16.9k sales respectively.

The numbers (last 7 days)

  • Total ADA volume: ₳5 Million (-25%)

  • Total CNFT Volume: 24,160 (-17%)

Underrated

These are this week’s most underrated NFTs. This is a highly subjective section so please DYOR

Some of my previous blue chip picks are still relevant and would be my choice today if I hadn't picked them already, including Clay Nation, Yummi, and others. Check out my undervalued picks from previous issues.

Investment Opportunity: Chilled Kongs

Chilled Kongs continues to impress on the secondary market in terms of volume and floor price. While most projects are taking a severe hit in both categories, Chilled Kongs maintains a floor price above ₳2k and ranks 4th on the weekly volume charts, only behind Clay Nation and two recently minted projects. They have a loyal community and serious whales who are unlikely to dump Kongs on the market anytime soon.

They are approaching the blue-chip status fast, if they haven't reached it yet, and in bear markets, you want to invest in those lower-risk projects.

Another important reason to consider CK is their upcoming Magic Mushroom drop. Leading up to the drop, holders will have increasingly greater incentives to delist their Kongs. This could create a supply shock, much like we experienced prior to the Over Exposed Genesis mint.
